Alewife Commute Mode Race 2018

One of the highlights of our biking events lineup this year was the Alewife Commute Mode Race, a friendly commuter competition among TMA members located at 100, 125 and 150 Cambridgepark Drive. According to Erin Tremblay, Event Specialist at Longfellow Real Estate, “We are always looking to find fun ways to engage our tenants by getting them involved in friendly and unique challenges. The Transit Race was the perfect way to encourage alternate forms of transportation while adding a competitive edge!”

The SOV Driver:

“It was a very interesting race to compare the many different types of transportation. In my case, I drove to the finish line and came in last because I had to deal with the rush hour traffic. Now I am looking to bike to work starting mid-July and I am very excited about it!”

—Viviana Serrano, Data Protection, Micro Focus

Biking Team:

“The commuter race was a great exercise to really see the difference between all of the commuting options that we have in the Cambridge area.”

—Kyle Jackson, Micro Focus

"This event was so much fun! It was so great to meet people from different companies. I can’t wait for the next event!"

—Susannah Richardson, Marketing Manager, Sales Enablement, FrontStream

The Finish Line Celebration

The after party was held at the finish line, Foundry on Elm in Davis Square. The group enjoyed celebratory drinks, delicious appetizers and awesome prizes like gift cards to Landry’s Bicycles, Marathon Sports, MBTA Charlie Cards, and other great items. Next year we plan to do this event again and we will be looking for teams of bikers, runners, transit riders, and car drivers to compete. Who knows, maybe by next year, we will add Uber, Lyft and electric scooters to the mix!
